My methods
My main focus is holistic training, which emphasize the alignment with dogs' natural behavior. It requires a thorough understanding of dog's language, needs, and species-specific traits, behaviors and emotions. Such trainings involve a deep sense of kindness, honest communication and trust to build a long lasting collaboration.

First and foremost, my training philosophy is built on force-free methods, which prioritize the mental and physical well-being of the animal. This approach respects the dog's needs, will, capacities, and consent, and strictly prohibits any form of violence—be it physical, mental, or verbal. By fostering empathy and understanding towards your dog's needs, we can create a more cohesive bond.

Secondly, this training is stress-free, promoting physical and emotional security for your dog. We will closely observe your dog's body language and vocalizations to make any necessary adjustments. For issues related to fear, anxiety, and stress, I apply gradual desensitization methods, allowing your dog to cope comfortably with challenging situations. I firmly oppose flooding techniques that expose dogs to fear-inducing stimuli beyond their capacity to cope.

Thirdly, this training can incorporate command-free techniques and positive reinforcement methods.
Command-free training focuses on nurturing natural behaviors by creating the appropriate emotionnal background for it and using effective communication with our dogs. .
Positive reinforcement involves adding something rewarding (a reinforcer)—such as praise, treats, attention, or preferred activities—to promote desired behaviors. Rewards are tailored to the individual dog, the specific behavior, and the context. The exercises are designed to be manageable for your dog, with increasing difficulty to ensure success at every stage, which contributes to their happiness.

This training philosophy goes beyond training methods to include the tools we use. I use Y or H shape harness and leashes of minimum three meters long to promote healthy movement and allow natural behavior such as sniffing, exploring, etc.

I do not support the use of collars (including electric, strangling, or semi-strangling collars), inappropriate harnesses that exert pressure on the neck, or short leashes and flexi-leashes. If you're using any of these tools and want to understand why they are considered disrespectful or how to replace them, please reach out.
My training methods reject harmful practices, such as dominance training, positive punishement, negative reinforcement which may use uncomfortable physical constraints, or fear as an "educational tool". Similarly, I avoid teaching commands that could cause psychological or physical discomfort for dogs (excessive sitting, crate training). Instead, I seek enjoyable and effective solutions that address the problems you and your dog are facing. For example, if you're using a crate to prevent destructive behavior, we'll investigate the root causes and find an appropriate solution.
Overall, these methods foster healthy communication and a positive relationship between you and your dog, making the educational process enjoyable for both of you.
